City lights that extend out in the distance
they stretch my soul as far as I can see
but tonight there is no horizon before us
tonight we are standing on the edge of the world
I'd stand staring up at stars in the void
but tonight the stars are directly in front of us
tonight there is no horizon before us
tonight we are standing on the edge of the earth
and I am afraid

what if the world stops turning tonight?
(keep watching the stars to see if they're moving)
what if the world changes its course?
(keep watching the stars to see if they're where they should be)
what if another world crashes into ours?
(keep watching the stars to see if they're where they should be)
what if the sun has gone out on the other side?
(keep watching the stars, we'll find out in the morning)

but look at all the continents on the map
so twisted out of shape
